OUR WEDDING PREPARATION SURVIVAL GUIDE
Organising a wedding doesn't have to be as daunting as it sounds. In fact, the preparation can be just as exciting as the day itself, if it is done right. Here are our top picks for the most important things to ensure your day runs smoothly:
Number One - Find the Perfect Venue
The Ceremony/Reception venue is very important to the overall feel of your wedding. It will set the mood and provide the ambiance for your special day. Make sure you find a location that can cater for your needs. Consider things like weather, parking, accommodation, dietary requirements. Connect with the Wedding Coordinator of said venue to ensure that your needs can be met (within reason). Once you have your heart set on the perfect venue, set the date and book your venue 3-6 months in advance.
Number Two - Book your Celebrant
Every wedding is a personal journey that is unique to the individual. Your Celebrant is the person that will officially tie-the-knot between yourself and your partner, so be sure to find someone who you feel comfortable with. A good Celebrant will be with you all the way, providing you support and assistance in the lead up to your big day
Number Three - Consider Hiring a Band/DJ
If you are considering music for your Wedding day, we advise that you book your desired musician/s early, as bands tend to have gigs booked well in advance. *Please note: ensure that your venue can cater for a band/DJ. Ask about a stage, sound, lighting, etc
Number Four - Send your Invitations
A common question asked by those organising a wedding is, "When do I send the invitations to our guests?" There are no hard and fast rules, but there are things you must take into consideration. Are any of your guests going to be travelling a long distance to attend? Will there be dietary requirements? Will your guests need to organise time off from work or other commitments? Generally speaking, it is advised that invitations/save-the-date cards are sent to guests 3 months prior to the event. This allows for plenty of time for RSVPs. If your guests are travelling internationally/interstate, you may want to send them a few months earlier than this to allow for time for flight and accommodation arrangements.
Number Five - Wedding Cake & Florist
Organise your Wedding Cake and Florist as soon as you have booked your venue. Ask your venue if they include floral table arrangements in their packages. If you are thinking about hiring a special vehicle, now would be the time to book that also.
Number Six - Wedding Bonbonnieres / Favours
These are small token gifts for your guests to take home with them at the end of your celebrations. They are usually lollies in a jar with a personalised tag or label in commemoration of your wedding.
Number Seven - Bridal Party Accommodation
We offer a special accommodation package for the Bridal Party the night before the Wedding. Wake up together at our majestic venue and spend the whole day relaxed and stress-free whilst you get ready for Wedding
You can now freely focus on your Attire, Jewellery, Hair, Make-up and Honeymoon. You have everything organised for your big day, all that is left now is to spend endless hours dreaming about the actual day itself.
